Rebel fighters from the Gacan Libax insurgent movement in northern Somalia have killed 9 troops and wounded 17 others following an ambush by the British-backed and trained paramilitary forces known as RRU.
The incident occurred in the Gacan Libax mountain pass, which is a stronghold of the newly formed Garxajis rebel movement that is attempting to topple the secessionist regime of Muse Bixi.
Furthermore, the Daljir Media news desk has been able to confirm that another rebel group has emerged in the Awdal region dubbing itself the Awdal Defense Force consisting of local pro unionist clans with grievences against the pro secessionist regime in Hargeysa.

This falls on the heals of a powerful civilian uprising in the SSC regions, where the newly formed SSC Khatumo administration has elected a leader (president), deputy leader, and a 45 member governing body (parliament). SSC-Khatumo troop movements in and around Laascaanood has been reported, as they make preparations for a final push to evict Somaliland troops from the Sool region.
Meanwhile, concerns are growing over the Federal Government of Somalia silence and inaction over developments in Northern Somalia, with many suspecting that Villa Somalia on behest of Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of Djibouti, is collaborating with Somaliland to subdue the legitimate uprisings of various communities in northern Somalia.
