Former Puntland President Abdiweli Ali Gaas and former Hassan Sheikh Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid, yesterday in Garoowe, presented to the people of Puntland a poorly written proposal they said would stave off bloodshed in Puntland. Immediately, the two politicians flew to Mogadishu to meet President Hassan Sheikh.
Also, yesterday, meeting the Somali community in Nairobi, Garaad Jama Garaad Ali, the Supreme SSC-Khatumo traditional leader, finally unable to bear Hassan Sheikh’s antagonism towards the people of SSC-Khatumo, spoke in public what has often been said in private and accused President Hassan Sheikh of a deliberate obstruction of the liberation struggle of the people of SSC-Khatumo. Accusing President Hassan Sheikh of a dereliction of duty, Garaad Jama said, “it is the responsibility of the President, the Prime Minister, and the Parliament to safeguard the unity of the Somali nation. You failed to fulfill these tasks. And since you are unable to perform your national tasks, don’t give the runaround treatment to those who are sacrificing their lives to safeguard the union. Don’t pull them down. Don’t block them. And don’t support those who are committed to breaking the union.”
Garaad Jama wasn’t done yet. “It is now crystal clear and without any trace of doubt that the Somali government is working against the people of SSC and directly working with the Somaliland regime,” said the Supreme Garaad of the SSC nation, Garaad Jama Garaad Ali.
People of SSC-Khatumo and the people of Puntland were of course aware of what has transpired in Mogadishu when President Hassan Sheikh at a sermon in Villa Somalia mosque threatened that 24 year Puntland will collapse within 24 hours if it proceeds with its democratization process. They also know of what has since transpired both in Garoowe and Laascaanood, where FGS MPs and Senators led by Senator Timacadde, the Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Senator Gaagaab, and MP Ali Xoosh, were sent from Mogadishu to sow trouble in Garoowe and division and discord between Puntland and SSC-Khatumo leaders.

Senator Timacadde, Senator Gaagaab and MP Xoosh, while in Laascaanood within a period of 48 hours, held 22 different meetings, and in all these meetings they individually and collectively conveyed a message from President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud claiming that once people of SSC liberate their territories from Somaliland, in lieu of Somaliland, “Deni with a strong force will make sure that SSC-Khatumo comes under Puntland. These forces from Garoowe and other Puntland regions will then subjugate you [the people of SSC].” In their public and private meetings they continued that “Deni wants to capture the region. He isn’t a doing you a favor [the people of SSC], he just wants you to trust him. Don’t be fools and trust Deni.”

Indeed, the people of Puntland and SSC weren’t fooled. They were and still are witnesses to the sinister intentions of President Hassan Sheikh. And these sinister intentions were yesterday publicly revealed by their supreme Garaad, Garaad Jama Garaad Ali.
You would think after Garaad Jama’s public revelations that no Puntlander with a heart and love for Puntland and SSC-Khatumo and fear of being shamed publicly would ever meet and sit down with President Hassan Sheikh. But Abdiweli Ali Gaas and Omar Abdirashid, defying Garaad Jama’s call, met Hassan Sheikh in Villa Somalia today, a day after the revelation. But why did they?
Perhaps former FGS MP Abdibarre Jibril, on his interview with Daljir Media yesterday, answered that question by informing the public that both Gaas and Omar are applying for the soon vacant position of the Prime Minister. Or perhaps blogger Jibril Qoobey presented it more properly by asking, “what would Gaas and Omar gain if one was to replace Hamza as Hassan’s newest secretary?”
Or perhaps no answer is necessary or needed as Garaad Jama Garaad Ali got to the bottom of the issue by declaring that “the Somali government is working against the people of SSC and directly working with the Somaliland regime.” Hence, from that statement we can deduce that anyone who works with Hassan Sheikh, directly, indirectly and or discretely “is working against the people of SSC and directly working with the Somaliland regime.”
People of Puntland and people of SSC-Khatumo, beware of the traitors to the cause.
