Warring clans in the Doollo province of the Somali region under Ethiopian rule had a truce after holding reconciliation talks in the town of Lahel Yucub.

A spat of revenge killings and violent feuds have resulted in countless deaths often linked to territorial disputes, control of water wells and grazing lands, among others.

Clan elders, local district officials and along with regional security personnel were in attendance during the reconciliation talks between the warring clans.

The Somali regional state under Ethiopian rule commonly referred to as the Ogaden region or Western Somalia has witnessed an uptick in communal violence over the past few years between the various Somali clans.
