Unidentified warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes targeting the Al-Shabaab controlled town of Bisaq Cadde, situated outside the district of Burhakaba in the Bay region of Somalia, Daljir Media has learned.

A total of five people where killed when war planes launched an aerial siege targeting Bisaq Cadde, with all the victims being civilians, as reported by the locals.

No government has claimed responsibility for the deadly airstrike. However, the armed group Al-Shabaab blamed the United States for carrying out the airstrike.

Daljir Media hasn’t been able to independently confirm who carried out the airstrike but this latest airstrike comes less then a week after AFRICOM took credit for an airstrike in central Somalia killing five insurgents as reported by Daljir Media last week.

Several foreign actors are involved in airstrikes in Somalia that include but not limited to the US, Turkey, Kenya, among others.
