Earlier today it was MP Abdirahman Abdishakur crying for help, crying for the fate of the country, and pleading with Speaker Aadan Madobe to follow the parliamentary procedures and submit bills, procedures and treaties for debate before asking the MPs to vote on something they have no clue of what they are.

Then it was MP Dr. Ali Faqi with a second cry on his X pleading for help and to save the country before it is too late.

MP Faqi posted the following: “The federal parliament has transformed into nothing more than a rubber stamp. This mornings’s debate on Somalia’s entry into the EAC was incredibly disheartening. The notion that the parliament is incapable of making any changes to the treaty and must simply give its approval is absurd. If that is the case, then why bring it to the parliament? While we may not object to supporting the government’s efforts to join the EAC, it is important that we engage in a thorough debate on the pros and cons in order to understand the direction in which Somalia is headed.”

Why all the cries for help that are coming from every corner and every segment of the Somali society?

Perhaps it is now becoming clearer by the day that President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud doesn’t want debate in the parliament, doesn’t want to disclose the security agreement with the UAE and Ethiopia, and doesn’t want at all to disclose the terms of the treaty he negotiated with the EAC. Does anyone then expect President Hassan Sheikh to be true to his off the cuff Friday Prayer Sermons of protecting the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia? We doubt, and you too should doubt. Doubt might be the only thing that saves the nation.

If you still haven’t doubted, start doubting, but first let us hear from Sheik Idiris and hear his sermon, “we can’t keep talking simple talk to save Somalia.”

After having heard from Sheikh Idiris, let us all fear for Somalia under the leadership of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud. President Farmaajo once saved Somalia from Hassan Sheikh, but who would now save Maandeeq from the hungry hyenas circling around our wounded Maandeeq?
