In an interview with the BBC Somali Section, MP
explains what has taken place at the parliament today and emphasized that no procedural changes whatsoever had legally been approved.
MP Abdishakur tells the BBC that it was all a sham. “As we waited for the distribution of today’s agenda, and discussion and debate on the procedures to be chan
ged to ensue, and nothing was brought forth as of yet, we then heard the Speaker yell ‘it has all been approved.’ We don’t even know what has been approved.” MP Abdishakur added, “The Speaker had a plan, and he proceeded to implement his plan.”
Asked what the President and the Speakers plans are, MP Abdishakur calmly answered, “It is so they amend the constitution without quorum, and without debate and discussion, just like they did today with the procedural change. They just want a show of hands for the articles the President wants to amend in the constitution and it is done with. That is all. That is how they want to change the constitution of the country. > Daljir Media
