Garxajis Liberation Front organized and funded within a period of less than four weeks is said to tonight boast over 1,000 fully armed clan militia. The front claims that it is fighting for the liberation of clan territories and against dictator Muse Bihi, President of the breakaway region of Somaliland. Certain self claimed leaders of the front profess that they want no part of Somaliland, but want to join Somalia as a new federal member state (FMS). However, there is yet to be an official leader and a written declaration by the Garxajis Liberation Front.

Their first battle test took place today at Diri Mara village at a valley at the edge of Gacan Libaax mountain range and a mere 80 KM east of Hargeisa against a collection of hastly organized units by President Muse Bihi, said to consist of UK trained RRU (anti terror Rapid Response Unit) and a number of Hargeisa policemen. As soon as these units arrived Diri Mara, it is reported that the Garxajis clan militia attacked them from three corners, and it is now being reported that the RRU commanding general has been killed, and a number of armed technicals destroyed.

Latest reports also claim that a number of wounded RRU and police units have been brought back to Hargeisa within the past couple of hours.

In Hargeisa police stations, it is now also being reported that some stations have been deserted because of fear of being sent to fight against the Garxajis Liberation Front.

As the Somaliland civil war heats up, people in Hargeisa are making bank runs and started lining up in front of the two main mobile bank operators, Telesom of Zaad mobile money and Telsom of Dahabshil. Because of the bank run, both bank systems are said to have been overwhelmed.
