A blast from a landmine targeted government forces patrolling the Wadajir district of Mogadishu, Daljir Media can confirm.

A unit of Somali troop traveling in a military pickup truck struck a landmine as they passed through the Bula-Xubey neighborhood in Mogadishu’s Wadajir district.

When the military truck struck the landmine, it sparked an explosion damaging the vehicle, leaving one soldier dead.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the armed group Al-Shabaab routinely carries out bomb attacks in Mogadishu.

Todays explosion comes a day after another similar explosion took place in Mogadishu’s Shibis district as reported by Daljir Media marking the second explosion in 48 hours within the city.
